This '74 Carrera was located by myself in Burbank, Ca. in '96, only 68,000 miles and complete but in need of a restoration. We stripped the car and started the process. We started with an '80 3.0L engine, 3.2L 41mm port heads, Cosworth Lightweight piston set, 993 Sport cams, B&B stainless headers w/ heat & dual-in dual-out exhaust system, and fitted the engine with 3.2L Digital Motronic Electronics (DME). We tuned the engine with the help of "Autothority" and their Mass Air Flow system.
