The Limited Edition America Roadster:
The original America Roadster was a special lightweight Glaser-bodied 356 Roadster built in very limited numbers for the U.S. distributor Max Hoffman. A light alloy body with hollow doors, deleted side windows, and a removable windshield all contributed to major weight savings. Only 16 of these cars were produced.
Like the 356 America Roadster it was named after, the Type 964 America Roadster was a limited-edition, driver-focused convertible destined specifically for the American market. The America Roadster was limited to just 250 examples, produced in 1992 and 1993. They used the standard 247hp 3.6L flat six, but had the wide fender flares, suspension, brakes, and staggered 17-inch Porsche Cup wheels of the 911 Turbo.
The small rear seats were replaced with a parcel shelf with storage compartments underneath. The wide Turbo-style body and speed-operated rear spoiler gave the America Roadster an aggressive but sleek look.
This America Roadster is finished in the classic color combination of black on black, and is beautifully preserved with just 26,524 original miles.
Clear bra has been installed to protect commonly chipped areas. The black soft top and plastic rear window are both in excellent condition. It is fitted with the sporty yet comfortably bolstered supple leather seats (driver seat 12-way adjustable), and has a tiptronic dual-function transmission – making it the ultimate sunny day driver.
This project started life as a 1995 993 C-2 cabriolet.I purchased it as a "salvage title" interior fire/burn, and parted it out. I always dreamed of a race car, or Crazy C-4 Roadster conversion-(turbocharged of course), "Pikes Peak" killer. OK, I came to my senses, and here is what we have done.
We stripped & sand blasted the tub, seam welded & caged the chassis. We then gave it the Zinc acid etch sealer. We fitted it with the 993 GT2 glass body package, our little twist was the addition of the cab./speedster profile.
The speedster has a 3.8L RSR MOTEC engine package. We also built a special 993 Turbo 6 spd. transaxle-converted to 2wd with complete direct mainshaft & gear fluid cooling system- one of our shop's many conversion specialties.
All the race engines are 964 crank & case. These were fitted with the MAHLE Motorsports 102mm 12.5 compression ratio piston & cylinder set, and bib valve RSR heads. We are using all that but without the factory RSR heads, we are using heavily prepared 993 VarioRam heads instead. We prepared the heads with our high rev. valve springs, titanium retainers, and topping them off with mechanical GT EVO cams. They are using the TWM manifolds, ITG air filters, and controlling the entire air pump is a MOTEC M600 ecu and MOTEC Dash collecting data and controlling the car.
The transaxle we chose for the 993 Speedster race car was a G-64/51, since it's the strongest 6-speed you can get. The oil feed mainshaft & pinion shaft are only found in the factory race cars, & Carrera GT. We converted this one over to 2 wheel drive, note the big side cover largest ring / pinion gear available and the 993 nose case with oil feed fitting to the mainshaft.
The color is a Porsche 1993-94 Maritime Blue, it looks a bit purple, but gets your attention no matter what. We also designed and fabricated a little Lexan windscreen.
Take a look at our Motec dash & IMB lap timer, all this dash alum. The metal work is finished in black wrinkle powder coat.
We are a full line MOTEC dealer, please let us know if we can help with your engine project, or data acquisition and management. In house production of racing exhaust systems are common here at Patrick Motorsports. Exhaust engineering and design is an extremely important aspect when tuning for optimum performance. For the 3.8L RSR engine, we chose to build the headers in 1.75 o.d. 304 stainless, equal length to the high flow merge collector. We then added a transition to 2.25 o.d. s.s. tubing with some length for added torque. We have learned a bit over the years on our DYNO JET 224XLC eddy current chassis dyno, on the road and on the track. Let us know how we can help your tuning needs. The 993 race car has being fitted with JRZ shocks, EIBACH springs including the progressive tender spring. We also fitted the car with our adjustable suspension links, toe & kinematic links, spherical bearings & solid rear suspension mounts - we always stock these! We had to use our upper spherical bearing shock mounts. Please let us know if we can help with your 993 race suspension setup.
The 993 race car has being fitted with JRZ shocks, EIBACH springs including the progressive tender spring. We fitted the car with adjustable GT2 sway bars, and billet drop links. As usual spherical bearings cartridge set for the front control arms. The real trick is to use the 993 GT 2 EVO front bearing carriers & not to forget the 964 lower control arms to get the best 993 negative chamber advantage ! We are also using our upper spherical bearing strut mounts. Please let us know if we can help with your 993 race suspension set up.

Each car goes through a thorough inspection to guarantee the car meets PMS’s exceedingly high standards. Patrick Motorsports has built dozens of BSR's and with that experience, we have set track records and won countless races.
Driver Accessories
PMS BSR program includes driver comfort equipment like the Cool Shirt system. With this system the driver will be in control of the temperature inside the driving suit which will lead to better concentration and sustainability. We install a 14” convex rear view mirror for better visibility and keep the electric controlled side mirrors. The shifter is raised up and shift throws are shortened so minimal time is spent with the drivers hand off the wheel. All controls are easily within reach and visibility is kept high to allow the driver full situational awareness.
Battery and Electrical Safety Systems
Each BSR comes standard with a lightweight Odyssey battery and PMS battery mount. For safety PMS exclusive dual zone battery disconnect switches have been installed for the driver and safety workers. We also relocated the alarm control unit away from water and debris on the floor. This also adds room to further lower the driver seat. We also remove all unnecessary wiring from under the dash and relocate the headlight switch.
Body & Chassis Components
PMS factory trained technicians disassemble the Boxster to a bare shell. Our fabricators then fit in a full safety cage system that meets all BSR/SPBOX rules. PMS exclusive weld in floor pan modifications allow the seat to be lower to give the drive more head room. The convertible top cover is fixed closed and then modified to accept a lightweight fiberglass top and LEXAN rear window using PMS exclusive brackets and fasteners. The dash caps and center dash plate are highly modified and hand crafted out of aluminium, and then powder coated. Both front and rear bumper are modified for center ventilation, exhaust outlet and retractable tow hooks. Our exclusive mesh grills front and rear are installed allowing for maximum airflow while offering protection for the center front mount radiator from road debris. Door cards are removed and doors are stripped to a shell to allow more space for the six point roll cage. Custom door caps are installed to add rigidity back into the doors. All dents and paint defects are repaired by our in-house body shop. Every car receives a new front windshield and 3M clear bra installed on the front bumper and leading edges. In addition we offer custom vinyl graphics and decal service to give your car a personal touch.
Brakes & Suspension System
PMS technicians disassemble the entire brake and suspension system from the chassis. All components that are not up to spec are replaced. Each wheel carrier is stripped, cleaned, inspected and receives a new wheel bearing. We convert the car to long wheel studs and steel nuts for safety and for efficient tire changes. Then exclusive PMS gas slotted rotors are installed. PMS has worked with Hawk Brakes to develop a pad compound specifically for the BSR. New stainless steel brake lines are installed and bleed with ATE racing brake fluid. The BSR suspension starts with Bilstein PSS9 coilover suspension system and our own custom Swift springs. Monoball rear toe arms are installed, removing slop found in the factory suspension. This setup allows for precise changes in the compression and rebound of the suspension and ride height adjustment. Our technicians then install GT3 lower control arms and shims for increased camber. GT3 front and rear sway bars, adjustable drop links and new bushings are installed to complete the suspension system. Our technicians then corner balance and align the car with the best overall track setup, developed over years of race victories and lap records. Our BSR racecar weights 2,453 pounds with half a tank of gas and all fluids. We also “shake down” the cars before delivery sto assure that the car is ready to win the first time out.
Clutch & Flywheel
For better throttle response we install a billet lightweight flywheel, OEM clutch disk and lightweight pressure plate. A new throw out bearing and all new hardware is installed. We balance the whole assembly to .10 of an ounce on our in-house state of the art computer balancing equipment.
Electrical Equipment & Additional Gauges
With the latest AiM dash, all important measurements are clearly displayed for the driver. Water temp, oil temp and oil pressure. Extra data points can be added and all data can be logged from added gauges and OBDII port, allowing you to improve on previous events where improvements can be made.
Engine Components & Service
We only start with the lowest mile, best cared for cars with extensive service history. Our factory trained technicians remove the engine and replace the spark plugs (NKG Racing), spark plug tubes, water pump, engine oil cooler, update intermediate flange with seal, rear main seal, oil separator bellows idler bearings, thermostat, center radiator and other engine components and gaskets. We also install an exclusive underdrive pulley. This slows down the power steering pump but also adds power by reducing parasitic drag. We remove unnecessary engine components like the air pump and air conditioning system. Our technicians also install a new set of O2 sensors to make sure the engine is running at its full potential. To eliminate oil starvation in hard cornering, we install a “cup” style oil sump plate and pressurized Accusump system. Custom cat bypass pipes and high flow dyno tested mufflers are installed helping the engine breath better. With this system the vehicle should pass a large majority of noise restrictions but angled track pipes can be added to ensure noise compliance. To keep the temperatures down, our triple radiator set-up is installed.
After the engine is installed we fill the oil system with Mobile 1 fully synthetic motor oil. The transmission is changed to Redline gear oil that keeps temps down and reduces drivetrain loss. We use Redline water wetter in the cooling system and flush the power steering system with ATE Pentosin.
Interior & Safety Equipment
PMS number one priority is engineering the BSR racecar for safety. The six point PMS custom fabricated DOM tubing is the safest cage to be fitted in the the BSR rules. We pad all the exposed bars and install window nets for added safety. Each car comes with a Recaro Pro HANS racing seat in black velour. HANS, head and neck support is paramount to the safety of the driver in the event of an accident and has saved the lives of many racecar drivers. A Schroth 6 point harness is fitted that can be removed by the driver with just the twist of the dial. We can also install a passenger seat and equipment for an extra charge. To aid with drive safety and comfort a Spacro quick release hub and MOMO cup car MOD 7 deep dish steering wheel is installed. A 10 LBS Halon 3 zone 360 degree custom installed fire system is included with the BSR.
As you can see there is a lot of labor to create this caliber product and on average it takes 155 hours of service labor, 48 hours of body shop labor and 78 hours of fabrication labor. This process results in a complete transformation from a street car to a full out race ready machine.

2004 Porsche 911 GT3, Basalt Black Metallic with only 25k miles. 1 of 1018, 996.2 GT3s for the US market, and 1 of 11 Basalt Black Metallic vehicles. This is the perfect opportunity to own a key vehicle in the Porsche lineage.
The 996 GT3 utilizes the famed Metzger engine architecture developed by Porsche for use at Le Mans in their legendary GT1. The GT3 engine is a very special unit featuring 4 valve heads, titanium connecting rods, dry sump lubrication and a lightweight clutch package. This motorsport derived powerplant does not suffer the IMS bearing or cylinder bore scoring issues found on the standard 996 C2 and C4 platform.
While the engine in the 996 GT3 offers many talking points, the chassis also offers a superb foundation for this modern classic. As the 1st ground up redesign of the 911, the 996 chassis moved the game on significantly from the 993, stiffness increased by 45% while simultaneously weight was reduced by 110 lbs. While the 996 GT3 is driven by the rear wheels alone, these GT3s were built on the slightly more robust 996 C4 chassis to further rigidity and handling precision. The standard C4 chassis were plucked from the assembly lines in Stuttgart and transferred to Porsche's Development Center in Weissach for full seem welding. Handling on the 996 GT3 is exceptionally precise, taut and controlled. Skidpad performance is impressive even by current numbers at 1.03g.
A few more details on this particular example:
-Front clip of the vehicle is covered in Xpel clear bra, this includes hood, front bumper, lower valance and front fenders.
- Pirelli Rosso Corsa rear tires freshly fitted as part of this vehicles sale preparation.
- Known use limited to public roads
- Service records dating from 2013.
- Serviced prior to sale, vehicle is 100% prepped and ready for enjoyment.
- Recent paint detail and sealant
- PCCB Brake option
As the first GT department vehicle from Porsche, the 996 GT3 stands as a modern classic. With volume significantly lower than any subsequent era of the GT3, this low mileage example offers an exceptional driving experience and economically stable ownership proposition.
Given its lack of driver aids and smaller, more air cooled proportions, you'll be hard pressed to find a more analog yet technically competent and truly usable machine.
In our estimation, the quality and character of the Mezger engine, superb chassis, and a few creature comforts combine to make the 996 GT3 a veritable modern classic. Available for immediate viewing , Patrick Motorsports is located within walking distance of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Please call or email for further detail.

The upgraded RUF motor and transaxle were removed from the vehicle and replaced by a built 1995 993 DME featuring solid lifter conversion and uprated camshafts. The engine was fully reconditioned and given a clean bill of health. The engine exhales through a set of full stainless steel SSI heat exchangers and modified dual outlet exhaust. The RUF transaxle was replaced less than 1,000 miles ago by a blueprinted short bell housing G50/01, in which all bearings, seals and other wear items were replaced. A Wavetrac limited slip differential and billet aluminum side cover were fitted to the transmission. An adjustable billet aluminum transaxle mount keeps it all in place. New axles are fitted with fresh CV joints. To keep things cool, two front mount oil coolers are fitted, one behind the front grill in the bumper, the other in the factory trombone locations. Oil lines are fitted with high quality AN fittings.
With all the extra power added, the vehicle's brakes, suspension, wheels and tires needed to be upgraded as well. Four piston 964 calipers are fitted front and rear and are powder coated silver with black Porsche script. Turbo tie rods are fitted as well as KW variant 3 double adjustable struts. The strut towers are fitted with a brace to add torsional rigidity. Sway-Away torsion bars and upgraded sway bars keep the car planted through the corners. Tow hooks are featured at all four corners for easy recovery or tie down of the vehicle. Matte finished seventeen inch lightweight forged Fikse ZF wheels , eight inch front, nine inch rear, wrapped in brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/45 front 245/45 rear.
The hand reupholstered interior is finished in Mercedes leather and carpet. All surfaces are covered in high quality leather, from the upper and lower dash to the unique personal fittipaldi steering wheel. The front trunk features matching carpet. Four point Simpson harnesses and a color matched blue four point roll cage keeps the occupants safe. Rear seats are removed to make way for the roll cage. Late model hydraulic pedal assembly replaces the factory cable driven clutch pedal.
