This 914-6 race car was built for PCA Club Racing, HSR East-West 2.0L Vintage Challenge, and VARA Racing CP3 series. This car is very developed, and has all fiberglass body work with aluminum door skins. All the special fabrication, tube work, one-off body panels, body & final paint & polish has been performed here at PATRICK MOTORSPORTS. 
These are part of our services offered daily. This 914-6 2.0L Speedster chassis has been acid stripped and etch primed. The entire chassis has been seam welded, and extensively re-plated.

This car has our Fuel Safe Fuel Cell (part# FUE SA914FC) - Porsche 914 - 14 gallon AN-8 feed and AN-6 return with an AN-8 vent this utilizes the original 914 filler neck, sending unit and mounting hardware. Comes with a RED POWDER COATED FINISH that is designed for direct replacement of the factory fuel tank.

Behind the fuel cell is the SAFECRAFT fire system. It comes with a 10 LBS. aluminum fire bottle with HALON 1301 that also includes the pull cable kit with 3 nozzles and aluminum tubing - DOT APPROVED - MEETS SCCA / NASA REQUIREMENTS - NON SFI CERTIFIED - SAFECRAFT (part# SAF LT10AAA)

This car is fitted with our Setrab oil cooler part # PMP 500-15NPT3/4, with installation kit (part # PKG 9146GT-FTOC-KIT) 

This is plumbed to the engine using Goodridge fittings and stainless braided hoses. Adding an oil cooler system is a must for operation of the air cooled engines in warmer climates as the factory engine mounted cooler just does not keep your engine operating in its optimal temperature range, causing premature engine wear and loss of performance. Our systems have been designed to keep your engine operating at optimal temperature, which extends engine life and improves performance.

Suspension is our Rear Coilover System - Porsche 914 ’70-’76 – Sport / Race - Includes: 
2) BILSTEIN rear sport height adjustable shocks, EIBACH 2.50 inch I.D. spring set (available in 25 lbs increments from 150 lbs to 400 lbs), upper spring hat set.
2) lower spring perch sets - fully adjustable – For street use setup we recommend (175-225 lbs spring set) – For full racecar setup we recommend (275- 325 lbs spring set). The system allows infinite ride height adjustability and corner weight balance setup. Part # SUS 914 RCKIT and PMP914-RTRAKT Fit all 914 chassis-includes 914 certified reconditioned trailing arm set with reconditioned and polished pivot shafts, plated bearing retainer plates, and box reinforcing kits, we added “D” hooks at the rear for towing and dyno tie down points, then finished them in black powder coating. 

Now is the time to add the Delrin bushings (part #SUSRDCABUSH) new wheel bearings (part # DRI 99905303500) and 5 bolt hubs (part # DRI 99931106533) for your wheel and tire swap. We also used our rear toe rod adjustment kit. Which includes the rod system with spherical bearings with adjustable hardware pre modified and powder coated carrier brackets and 2 steel weld-in rocker mounting plates. The factory rear adjustments are very difficult and time consuming to do. This kit makes the adjustments much easier and locks in position so they cannot easily change.

The new lightweight Quick Releases from MOMO feature a skyway design that saves time when it is crucial. The advanced design allows only one way of installation so that there is no more fumbling of trying to line up a SPLINE design. 
The MOMO system will also not gall like a SPLINE design does after hard use. This piece needs to be welded on the steering column. (Part # SUSMOMO)

We have a state of the art chassis dyno for expert race preparation. 
Too often during dyno testing there is a tendency to focus on flash power peaks. Customers and novice dyno operators do this all the time, mostly because the numbers look higher! 

However, you want sustainable power. Vehicles must accelerate using their entire RPM band.... and even drag engines must produce strong power for more than just a single 1/10 second line on a data points listing! The DE series Air Gap Eddy Current Dynamometers are designed for testing engines to 966 hp (720 kW). These are low inertia, water-cooled Eddy Current Dynamometers designed to provide our customers with a precise, robust and repeatable alternative to water-brake technology. 

An Eddy Current Dynamometer produces braking torque using the principle of eddy currents induced on a rotating metallic disk, immersed in a magnetic field. All of our Eddy Current Dynamometers include a strain gauge load cell to provide torque measurement capabilities for precise test and development applications. A variable reluctance (Magnetic Pickup) sensor and 60 tooth gear are provided for sensing speed (rpm). These units are built to last. The rugged design of the power absorbing system ensures a long operating life, even in the most demanding applications and environments. The long life and ruggedness of the product is further enhanced by the nickel plating of critical components in contact with the cooling water.

As you can see the 914 body in this project was lightened as much as possible and then the roll cage and safety features were designed for the project and usage. We must design many projects as built to meet the requirements needed for the intended use. The sanctioning bodies for the races have very strict specifications the cars must meet and these need to be considered as the car is being built. Pictured is the body completely painted top and bottom, all panels are installed and fitted as the body work is being completed for an exact fit and then removed to paint for the finest flawless finish.
