We w​ere commissioned by the owner to restore this very rare ​1972 916 Coupe Porsche​ - 1 of 11 cars hand built by the design group. The car was purchased by the current owner's father in Germany​ through Jürgen Barth, and was used in many track day events in Germany during his deployment with the U.S. Army. The car came to us repainted black​, but was restored to its original configuration by ​our team: ​Brilliant Silver with ​Day​ Glo ​Red accents. This car is fitted with a 2.7 ​L RS MFI engine​ # 911/53.  It has ​a Magnesium case transaxle with serial number ​# 009 916 ​/ 915 transaxle, ​featuring a mechanical drive oil pump and spray bar ​all built by Porsche Motorsports. Patrick Motorsports has built this 916 steel roof replica, powered by a fully built 964 DME based 3.8L engine, driven through a 915 gearbox with WEVO tail shift system. The car has a modern A/C system featuring R-134 refrigerant, utilizing a front mounted 993 A/C condenser with fan assist. We have stripped the chassis, seam welded & reinforced all critical areas, and incorporated a tubular cage system front to rear. This special project's goalbwas to back date this 1978 PORSCHE 911 Turbo (930) chassis to the famous 1973 Porsche 911 RSR. This lightweight chassis is fitted with a custom built drivetrain featuring a 993 twin turbocharged 3.8L engine and 6 Speed transaxle. The engine is precisely controlled by a MoTeC M600 engine management system. The transmission is of our special 993 Short Bell Housing, 6 Speed transaxles.   This 1967 912 was fully restored here at Patrick Motorsports, then presented at PCA Werks Reunion 2017, in Monterey, California! Day 1 is stripping the car back for investigation.
