We started with a customer supplied 1984 911 Carrera 3.2L, first complete disassembly and evaluation. Then conversion to long hood early ST configuration. This 1974 to 1973 backdate 911 got a complete tear down, rebuild and upgrade package with a 3.8L engine, RSR bodywork, coilover suspension, and custom interior. Here is how it arrived at our facility as a roller with no engine or transmission: No expense was spared with the suspension & brakes either. This original 1974 Carrera has been converted to an all steel RSR wide body, and fitted with a 993 Twin Turbo EFI engine and G-50/50 transaxle. This 3.5L started life as a 3.2L Carrera engine. Using a 964 crankshaft and our exclusive Mahle Motorsports pistons, cylinders and Pauter rods, the displacement was raised to 3.5L. The engine breathes through AT Power individual throttle bodies which give excellent throttle response and are extremely free flowing.

Our new and exclusive 3.5L engine conversion package offers great performance while maintaining streetability. Our exclusive piston, cylinder and rod set bump up the displacement from 3.2L to 3.5L. This special project's goalbwas to back date this 1978 PORSCHE 911 Turbo (930) chassis to the famous 1973 Porsche 911 RSR. This lightweight chassis is fitted with a custom built drivetrain featuring a 993 twin turbocharged 3.8L engine and 6 Speed transaxle. The engine is precisely controlled by a MoTeC M600 engine management system. The transmission is of our special 993 Short Bell Housing, 6 Speed transaxles. Jeff's 1981 PORSCHE 911 Super Carrera with a 1997 993 3.6L V-Ram engine conversion. The 993 V-Ram 3.6L DME engine is originally equipped with secondary air injection system (smog pump), power steering and an oil filter console. We fit this 911 race car with a 3.8L 964 based RSR engine, and coupled it to a 1989 G50 transaxle. The gearbox has all the tricks, tall 2.8 ratio first gear mainshaft set with close ratio gears straight thru 5th gear. I located this 1974 Carrera in Burbank, CA in 1996, with only 68,000 miles and complete but in need of a restoration. We stripped the car and started the process. We started with an 1980 3.0L engine, 3.2L 41mm port heads, Cosworth Lightweight piston set, 993 Sport camshafts, B&B stainless exhaust heat exchangers & dual-inlet dual-outlet exhaust system, and fitted the engine with 3.2L Digital Motronic Electronics (DME). 1973 911 RSR Racer With 3.8L DME G50 6 Speed Conversions In Martini Livery

This 911 underwent a complete rebuild to RSR specification. We incorporated a 6-speed G50 Short Bell Housing transmission (G50 SBH). We machined and performed a blueprint rebuild here at Patrick Motorsports. Engine and Transmission fitment required extensive chassis modifications due to the longer transmission length. The engine displacement has been increased to 3.8L. Oil cooling has been updated with an RSR oil pump, our special Setrab front mount oil cooler and the original equipment 930 radiator style front fender cooler. This 1972 911 was a wreck when it showed up on a trailer towed in from San Diego. The customer wanted to have a car with super performance, and the comfort of A/C. The 1995 Porsche 993 3.6L engine was selected for installation in this project car.To fit this engine in this older Porsche 911 chassis, several modifications are required, the dash and power brake sheet metal work was the most intensive (see detail in photos).
