The upgraded RUF motor and transaxle were removed from the vehicle and replaced by a built 1995 993 DME featuring solid lifter conversion and uprated camshafts. The engine was fully reconditioned and given a clean bill of health. The engine exhales through a set of full stainless steel SSI heat exchangers and modified dual outlet exhaust. The RUF transaxle was replaced less than 1,000 miles ago by a blueprinted short bell housing G50/01, in which all bearings, seals and other wear items were replaced. A Wavetrac limited slip differential and billet aluminum side cover were fitted to the transmission. An adjustable billet aluminum transaxle mount keeps it all in place. New axles are fitted with fresh CV joints. To keep things cool, two front mount oil coolers are fitted, one behind the front grill in the bumper, the other in the factory trombone locations. Oil lines are fitted with high quality AN fittings.
With all the extra power added, the vehicle's brakes, suspension, wheels and tires needed to be upgraded as well. Four piston 964 calipers are fitted front and rear and are powder coated silver with black Porsche script. Turbo tie rods are fitted as well as KW variant 3 double adjustable struts. The strut towers are fitted with a brace to add torsional rigidity. Sway-Away torsion bars and upgraded sway bars keep the car planted through the corners. Tow hooks are featured at all four corners for easy recovery or tie down of the vehicle. Matte finished seventeen inch lightweight forged Fikse ZF wheels , eight inch front, nine inch rear, wrapped in brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/45 front 245/45 rear.
The hand reupholstered interior is finished in Mercedes leather and carpet. All surfaces are covered in high quality leather, from the upper and lower dash to the unique personal fittipaldi steering wheel. The front trunk features matching carpet. Four point Simpson harnesses and a color matched blue four point roll cage keeps the occupants safe. Rear seats are removed to make way for the roll cage. Late model hydraulic pedal assembly replaces the factory cable driven clutch pedal. All of the gauges have been beautifully refinished and the tachometer now features a voltage gauge where a factory turbo would have its boost gauge. New headliner is installed as well as new gaskets for the sunroof.
