1974 911 RSR Clone With 993 3.6L DME Upgrade and 915 Transmission Restoration Conversion R134 A/C

Starting out life as a 1974 911, this car has transformed into a killer "RSR" street racer. 1996 993 big valve with 1995 DME injection, hydraulic valves, early stainless heat exchangers, RS sport muffler, 993 R-134 A/C compressor for added creature comforts!

A 1986 915 transaxle with Limited Slip Differential (LSD) pushes the 3.6L power through late Carrera axles. The car is set up with full 935 type front suspension, RSR 935 coilover strut with dual spring & rear inverted RSR 934 coilover shock with dual spring setup. The 1974 911 chassis converted to 911/930 steel wide body & RSR front & rear bumper covers.

The complete interior was restored with the spartan lightweight touch, with lightweight RS type door panels, rear roll cage, RECARO SPG XL seats, 1989 911 dash for great large center A/C vents, 1989 A/C controls, and everything everywhere is fresh, new, or restored to better than new condition!

The chassis is ready for the drivetrain and the power plant installation.

The rear suspension has been updated to coilover shocks with dual Eibach springs, using progressive tender and main springs. With this combination you are able to use a stiffer main spring with the softer rate on the tender spring. This combination makes for a smoother transition rate on corners and helps transfer the weight smoother on turns.

We also used our Porsche 935 rear spring plate package available for all 1969-1989 Porsche 911 / 930.  This package includes anodized billet aluminum mounts, spring plates with mono-ball ends and all mounting hardware, and adjustable toe links with 25 mm raised pivot option. This package is sold as  a complete left and right set.

Here is the 993 3.6L engine ready to install. It has been upgraded with our 1965-1973 911 RS sport muffler featuring dual inlets and outlets -
NOTE: Rear valance modifications may be required for later model 911s with conversion exhaust / 914-6
NOTE: Optional ceramic coating available: satin silver, black and titanium gray - add $295.00 additional cost - please specify when ordering.

Completing the exhaust system is the 964 & 993 3.6l SSI stainless steel heat exchanger set for early 1965-1974 911 type dual exhaust with heat - we worked with John @ SSI to develop the use of his outstanding heat exchangers set in our 964 & 993 3.6l engine conversions to 911 - this thick head flange type has a special tapered inlet port for the 3.6l heads. We also test fit the set to the 3.6l engine before these pieces ship.

We stock our sport mufflers, along with the correct o.e. head to flange gaskets, copper lock nuts (8mm x 1.25mm with 12mm head), 50mm high temp heater hose, and more.

You can also see the 3.6L-3.8L RS & RSR alternator fan drive hub. This converts the pulley setup to single belt drive pulley with a single belt 3.6L 1990-1998 used on RS & RSR - 1990-1998 Porsche 911 - lightweight CNC machined billet aluminum with black anodized finish. This setup uses all original pulley hardware - another Patrick motorsports Exclusive

This is ideal for 914 & 911 to 964-993 engine conversions, see more in our conversion sections and project area! (part # pmp36fan-hub)

1974 911 RSR Clone With 993 3.6L DME Upgrade and 915 Transmission Restoration Conversion Metal Fabrication and Body Work

This 911 is updated with steel flares front and rear. At this point they have been installed; they are just tacked on and will be finish welded to minimize warpage of the metal. All our add ons and repairs are with metal and not just formed with filler. In all cases we use little to no filler for a flawless finish.
Most shops are artists with filler and that is the way the insurance companies want things finished to keep the cost down. The excess filler will look fine for a year or two then it will shrink and crack, at times even fall off the body.  Your repair then is worse than before and money is lost.  The factory uses no filler for that reason and neither do we.
