Sahara Beige 1974 911 Carrera To 911 3.6L Twin Turbo RSR G50-50 Upgrade Conversion

This original 1974 Carrera has been converted to an all steel RSR wide body, and fitted with a 993 Twin Turbo EFI engine and G-50/50 transaxle. It has also had a 1989 930 torsion tube conversion that allows the fitment of 930 rear trailing arms! Of course it has all 930 brakes & suspension.   The 1979 930 Turbo was one FAST car ahead of its time. With a 3.3L Turbo flat 6, pushing 0-60 MPH in 4.9 seconds, and 13.7 seconds in the 1/4 mile.  This 993 Turbo came to us as a Black Horse, and needed a refresh so the famed Mexico Blue was chosen to breathe some life back into the car. The GT2 style is referring to the change from 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive.  We have converted the original 993 Turbo all wheel drive gearbox G64/51 to a 993 Turbo 2 wheel drive unit. This sweet 1987 930 has come to us from Ohio for an engine rebuild & upgrade, along with suspension, A/C, and oil cooler updates. We started with a comprehensive disassembly & inspection, the engine was showing cylinder. combustion leak at cylinder #5. We found that after careful inspection of the #5 cylinder head that it was incorrectly machined, and causing a deck height issue.
